Derby Womens Centre

sad-woman-silhouette1Derby Women’s Centre is a resource for all women over 18 in and around Derbyshire.  The service users who come into the Centre include vulnerable women, women who have suffered domestic abuse, women with mental health problems including common anxieties, depression, eating disorders, sexual abuse, relationship problems, bereavement and cultural.

Their aim is to improve the quality of life for women in Derbyshire.  Derby Women’s Centre is a registered charity and relies on funding and donations.

Many of the women who use the Centre have had difficult life experiences, including domestic violence, mental health problems and depression and have faced many set backs in life which in turn have affected their confidence.  Low confidence and lack of self esteem impacts on their lives and relationships making it extremely difficult for them to make decisions.

Derby Women’s Centre offers support in a number of ways.  Twice a month they hold informal themed coffee mornings offering a wide range of topics which provide the service users with a safe haven to come and make friends.  They provide complementary therapies at low cost which offer alternative ways to boost confidence.

The Centre also offers counselling to service users dealing with specific issues including low confidence, unsatisfactory relationships, low mood, depression, distress following abuse etc.

Our funding of £5,000 goes towards the running of these vital programmes.
