Kendal Child Contact Centre

shutterstock_33289705KLGC’s constitutional aim is ‘to help young people through their leisure time activities so to develop their physical, artistic, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and responsible citizens of society and that their conditions of life may be improved’

Current activities include youth groups, boxing club, fencing club, after school club, arts project and support for children excluded from school.

The Centre wants to create a wildlife area in the grounds of KLGC on land which has been sadly neglected over the years – a situation made worse by the recent building work.

It now needs clearing and landscaping to make better use of these outdoor resources and to provide an attractive environment for both the children and young people who use the Centre and for the general public.  They want to create an open space which will help to encourage an interest in  – and enjoyment of – wildlife and to increase awareness of environmental issues.

Our funding of £9,420 goes towards this programme.
