Time Out

Time Out
Time Out provides weekly activities for up to 20 men and women living in the rural community around Co. Durham. The sessions aim to promote mental, social and physical wellbeing through education and learning. Sessions typically cover crafts, relaxation, physical activity, nutrition. They also provide valuable opportunities to socialise with other women and provide self-help and support to those isolated by caring.
A creche is provided to allow parents of young children to participate. This ‘time out’ from the struggle of managing a home and caring for children has proved one of the most valuable assets for members. For many, this is the only time they are given a break from caring.
Our funding of £6,000 goes toeards a rolling programme of activities for people in the rural community to promote their mental, social and physical wellbeing.
