Introducing…Iain ‘Everybody wants to run the world’ Gray
Ah, Iain. What can we say about Iain this side of the watershed? Well, we could start by introducing the lovely Iain – one of our runners for the Brighton Marathon.
I think its fair to say that Iain’s arm was twisted right up his back for this one but being a thoroughly nice chap and a good sport, Iain has thrown himself into it with all the gusto usually reserved for contestents on Wipeout.
Enough from us, here’s some information from the gent in question….
It is a beautiful morning, but not even the lovely sunshine and a new desk in the office can make up for the sheer horror of training. I can honestly say that I am absolutely hating every single moment of it! And in yet another departure from my sedentary nature, I have also joined the gym near the station and have booked a personal trainer to make me feel as uncomfortable as possible for the next six months. I’ve only been a few times but he’s really good at his job…
Anyway, enough rambling, here are the answers to the questions:
Apart from your home and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
My wife’s engagement ring (£49.99 – Elizabeth Duke)
What’s been the most embarrassing moment of your life?
Publicly soiling myself in tennis whites. Or possibly accidentally grabbing a middle-aged woman’s breast. Onstage, performing in a play in front of 250 people. Or maybe it was being caught by an ex-girlfriend’s parents in a staggeringly compromising position. On their bed.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Tuesdays
If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you’d do?
I’d wake up.
If you had a pound to give to charity, which collection tin would you pop it in?
The Body Shop Foundation of course. Is this a trick question?
When was the last time you cried?
Two days ago, when I was watching Armageddon for the fifth time, and Bruce Willis sacrificed himself yet again to save the earth.
Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say?
My wife, and I couldn’t possibly repeat it…
If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Bruce
What is your favourite thing about The Body Shop Foundation?
That they have given someone as wholly unfit and habitually indolent as myself the opportunity to run in the inaugural Brighton Marathon. Thanks for that.
What one skill or talent do you have that no-one knows about?
If I have one, not even I know about it…
