Stichting Tandheelkundeproject Kenia

headerPrior to the Dental Project Kenya Foundation, there was just one dentist in the Kwale district – working for half a million people.  Now, the Foundation sends a group of volunteers to the area six times a year, consisting of dentists, assistants, oral hygienists and supporting people.  In the week that they are there, they teach the pupils how to care of their set of teeth, give them toothpaste and toothbrushes and treat them if necessary.

This treatment and education is done from a mobile dental office that can be built in any classroom in any school in the bush.  They have managed to treat thousands of people this way since they started in 2003.

Our funding will go towards the cost of one of the work weeks.  With £3,000 they can buy the materials for the week for between 800-1,000 people.
