Worthing & District Animal Rescue Services (WADARS)

red-squirrel1Every year WADARS receive and act upon more than 15,000 calls from the local community regarding animals and birds in distress.  In the course of their work, their Animal Rescue Officers make over 5,000 visits a year covering a distance of 40,000 miles in their fully equipped animal ambulances.

Over the past 40 years, WADARS have been committed to supporting the local Worthing area, working to ensure sick or injured wildlife receive the best care available, with the intention of being released back into its natural environment.

During 2008, WADARS rescued and rehomed 913 domestic pets and rescued and released over 1,350 wildlife.
Our funding of £10,000 goes towards building a wildlife critical care and rehabilitation unit at Fitzalan House Veterinary Practice, in Fitzalan Road, Littlehampton.
