Congratulations Maggie Baxter, WOMANKIND!
Maggie Baxter, WOMANKIND’s Executive Director between 1999 and 2007, has been awarded an OBE for services to the Voluntary Sector in the New Year’s Honours List.
WOMANKIND staff and partners throughout the world warmly congratulate Maggie, who continues to promote women’s equality on the global and national level at every opportunity.
Maggie said, ‘I am delighted to accept the OBE on behalf of all the women worldwide who will never get recognition and so roundly deserve it. They work tirelessly for their families and communities with little thanks or reward. I will continue to fight for their voices to be heard.’
We are all delighted that Maggie has been awarded an OBE – such terrific news and so deserved for someone who has been an inspiration to us with her work both at Womankind Worldwide and Comic Relief.
