Caras Alegres, Guatemala
Caras Alegres supports the people in the Las Rosas neighbourhood in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala by stimulating self-dependence, independence and education. They help people through education, promoting and enhancing the general well being and social position of children, women and families living in poverty who live in very difficult circumstances.
In 2008, Caras Alegres successfully started an education project for women called ‘ Road to Independency’ and in order for this to continue and be made more successful, the project want to open a Child Daycare Centre. This will add quality to the development of the child and give it the necessary care while their moths are working, improving the women’s financial and social independence.
Our funding of £5,000 goes towards the Child Daycare Centre.
