We LOVE 1990
It takes us right back here in the Foundation to a time when heroes were in a half shell, when poor Kevin got left home alone and the Simpsons turned the whole world yellow.
And us? We were pulling up new chairs to new desks and starting the huge task of co-ordinating company donations AND giving money away to charities that Anita and Gordon had met on their travels.
20 years on and we’ve given away £13.5 million to some of the world’s most innovative and ground breaking charities. We’ve given a hand up and not a hand out to challenging issues and desperate causes, giving hope to hundreds and thousands of people and species.
Currently, 73% of all the grants we give away come from staff of The Body Shop across the world, using all their local wisdom and expertise, making us a truly international Foundation.
Over the coming months we’ll be featuring some friends and supporters of the Foundation from past groups funded to volunteers we work with today. All joining the celebrations and raising a toast to The Body Shop Foundation.
Here’s to the next 20, we say. Who knows, we might have lost the dodgy perms and pixie boots by then…..
