Celebrating our 20 years of caring with The Body Shop UK – 2 more days to go!

untitled-1
The Body Shop Foundation celebrates its 20th birthday this year! And to celebrate, we’ve joined forces with The Body Shop UK, promoting The Foundation in stores and asking our customers to vote on how £20,000 of the Foundations money is spent.

Launching  27th May, we’re taking our work to those that help us fund over 100 innovative projects a year – our shop staff and our customers.  The Body Shop International gives an annual donation to the Foundation come rain or shine so every time a product is brought in store, the customer indirectly gives to charity.  This promotion allows you – the customer – to decide where that money goes!

Here’s how it works:

At till point, you will be  given a token which can use to vote for one of three Foundation selected charities.

Here’s a brief description of these charities:

Women’s Environmental Network

WEN is an innovative national charity that promotes sustainable living and environmental justice for all through training and campaigns on a range of important health and environmental issues such as urban food-growing, climate change, chemicals, and household waste. It is a UK charity dedicated to advancing women’s perspectives on the environment,
helping to empower as many women and families as possible to lead healthier lives.

Co-Ordinated Action Against Domestic Abuse

CAADA is a charity that is passionate about transforming the UK’s response to severe domestic abuse. It works for the 120,000 severe victims in the UK each year by specialising in
practical tools, training and support for professionals. With this simple approach have strengthened the safety net for over 40,000 people over the past 5 years.

Care for the Wild International

Care for the Wild International is a charity dedicated to the conservation and welfare of wildlife around the world. Its aim is to protect wildlife and its habitat, rescue and rehabilitate displaced wild animals, and act as a global voice for wildlife protection through campaigns, research and education.

We will then have a weekly count from every store to see which charity has the most votes.  At the end of the promotion, the charity with the most votes will receive £10,000.  £6,000 will be given to the charity with the second highest customer votes and £4,000 to the organisation with the third highest votes.

We need you all to get involved and take part in this charitable giving – pop down to your nearest The Body Shop from Thursday and take part.  You’ll directly change someone or somethings life AND get fantastic product at the same time.  It really is retail therapy at its very finest!
