Malawi Update: feedback from the orphanage visit

Yesterday afternoon we went to an orphanage in Lilongwe for a wildelife art class.  The structure of the orphanage is very different than the ones we see every day.  The parents of the children die of HIV/Aids or for another reason are unable to care for their children so other families will take them in.  Families for the housing around the orphanage and once one becomes available, a child or  several children are allocated for them to take of.  We spent the afternoon with about 60 children singing, dancing and painting.  It was amazing to see the joy in the children after such tragedies have occurred in their short lives.

More as it happens folks
