SolarAid is a young, innovative charity which tackles two of the most pressing challenges facing the world at the moment: climate change and global poverty.
By combining the benefits of solar energy with the opportunity for communities, they seek to realise their vision: imagining a world where everyone has access to affordable, clean, renewable power.
Our funding of £40,000 over 2 years is given for the Malawi sunnymoney programme. This is an innovative programme they have developed based on the proven principles of micro-franchise as uniquely applied to the challenge of renewable energy.
