10 questions we ask everyone; author, contributor, friend of the Foundation – the lovely John Reid

john-reidAh, questions questions questions. The world is riddled with them and we’ve decided to add some more into the mix. This time, we throw our investigative light on John Reid, author and contributor of articles to the Foundation to see into his fantastic mind.

* Apart from your home and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
A pair of trainers which I’ve never worn out of the house; I recognise this is both a sad and materialistic answer!

* What’s been the most embarrassing moment of your life?
Being 8, at my first wedding, and leaping to catch the bouquet from the hands of the expectant bridesmaids.

* If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
The continual ravaging of Africa by the West.

* If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you’d do?
Stand in front of the mirror; just to check!

* If you had a pound to give to charity, which collection tin would you pop it in?
Medecins Sans Frontieres, aka Doctors Without Borders. They’re the first into the most dangerous and deprived areas, providing direct medical care for the people who need it most.

* When was the last time you cried?
England’s dismal exit form the last world cup, crushed 4-1 by Germany; trivial but at the time devastating.

* Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say?

From my girlfriend and it said ‘What are you doing?’

* If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
D’Brickashaw, sounds made up but isn’t. The name of an American football player when I was studying in the US and definitely the best first name I’ve ever heard.

* What is your favourite thing about The Body Shop Foundation?

A clear and present dedication to help those less fortunate or in need. (And the wonderful staff the run it of course!)

* What one skill or talent do you have that no-one knows about?

Patience.
