Introducing Glenna Pierce, USA volunteer extraordinaire!

This week, we’re shining a light on the work that our volunteers do. Not only do they juggle a busy workload but they ALWAYS find time to volunteer for The Body Shop Foundation at our Wake Forest Head Office.
So let me tell you about Glenna. Glenna has ALWAYS been there for us, right from the very beginning when we started fundraising. She’s helped, assisted and volunteered at every sale we’ve done, she formed the backbone with two other volunteers when we found ourselves without a staff member, working tirelessly to make sure that our staff charity shop still opened every week. In short, she’s pretty amazing and we can’t thank her enough for her support for us.
But it doesn’t stop there with Glenna. She’s a regular charitable whirwind….here’s what else she gets up to!
In addition to volunteering at The Body Shop Foundation Charity Store, she is a cancer survivor and work with the Relay for Life as a team member of her church’s RFL team and is also a co-treasurer for our RFL division. She has volunteered at the Food Bank, Salvation Army Retail Store, packaged meals for the world wide hunger relief, President of the Ladies Ministry at her church, work with the youth at her church, assistant Sunday School Teacher, adult class.
On top of this, she’s also worked with a local TV station to collect coats for kids as well as volunteering for various activities at the Customer Support Center, and volunteered at the local YMCA. In her “spare” time (!!), she has also been known to babysit for those who can’t afford a sitter in order to give them a break.
