Once upon a time with Mary Blodgett
Read all about it! Well, that’s certainly what our volunteers and friends over at Wake Forest, North Carolina have been doing! The Body Shop is the presenting sponsor of Bookmarked! , a two-week series of events to benefit Lucy’s Book Club <http://www.lucysbookclub.org/> , which promotes the importance of reading to children.
Lucy’s Book Club is part of the Lucy Daniels Center (LDC) for early childhood, the largest and most comprehensive agency providing children’s mental health services in North Carolina’s Triangle region.
As part of their sponsorship, Customer Support Center employees participated and attended various Bookmarked! events, including free public readings by local “celebrities”. These included Vice President of Commercial Jason Feldman, Americas Region President Phil Kowalczyk and Mary Blodgett Vice President of Shop Operations and also on our Americas Zone Funding Panel.
The two week event was crammed full of wonderful literacy event including readings and a workshop for parents and teachers by Molly Bang, the festival’s featured award-winning author/illustrator.
We’ve heard it went down extremely well! Well done Wake Forest volunteers and employees – two thumbs up, Paul McCartney stylee, from us here in the UK!
