stop_logoBBC 1 Sunday 3rd July 9pm.   ‘Stolen’ – a drama about child trafficking in the UK

Calling all supporters of the recent campaign with The Body Shop & ECPAT – please tell friends and family to watch this new BBC drama, written by Stephen Butchard (Vincent, House of Saddam, Five Daughters), directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl, Bleak House) and starring the wonderful Damian Lewis as, cop with a heart, DI Anthony Carter.

The story focuses on the lives of 3 children trafficked to the UK. DI Carter runs a human trafficking unit in an anonymous UK city (in reality it was filmed in Manchester).  ECPAT UK worked with the writer and production team from its inception in 2006 and together with input given from the Met police and others working with child victims of trafficking the drama portrays the stories  of children trafficked for domestic servitude, cannabis growing and forced labour.

The film has already received high acclaim and there is a potential award winning ”buzz’ around it  for both script writing and production.  Hot off the heels of the recent amazing awareness raising campaign from The Body Shop International – its certainly worth a look.  Show your support for the issue by tuning in please.
