Sahara Challenge 2012 – introducing Teresa Waller

terri-under-palm-tree-2Our Sahara Challenge has all the makings of a movie block buster and features a pretty exceptional cast.

Take Teresa Waller for example.  Not only is she pivotal in arranging departmental volunteering, Teresa also takes a leading role in fundraising over £15,000 a year for different local charities.

And this year, Teresa is joining us on the ‘walk for water’ challenge – here’s more about her in the 10 questions that we ask absolutely everyone….

Apart from your home and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
A cat ornament, I would never normally spend the amount I did on something like this!

What’s been the most embarrasing moment of your life?
Being chosen to enter a Hula Hoop competition on stage on a haven holiday, I was so scared when I was asked where I lived I couldn’t remember!

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
These are not my words but I completely agree with them. “It is better to let the world be as it is and to change oneself for a better world. If each and every person thinks in the same way, one could live in a better and a more peaceful world”

If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you’d do?
Take a train to London and go and see the matinee performance of “Love Never Dies”, then I’d go and see “The Jersey Boys“ in the evening.

If you had a pound to give to charity, which collection tin would you pop it in?
Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice (amazing place!)

When was the last time you cried?
Last week when a very close friend passed away.

Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say?
A friend to confirm timings for a reunion we’re organising in Richmond this Sunday.

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Alicia (Ali for short)

What is your favourite thing about The Body Shop Foundation?
The enthusiasm of the team and the fact it supports smaller charities.

What one skill or talent do you have that no-one knows about?
I have my day skipper and yacht master qualifications, I belong to a sailing club on the East Coast and love sailing.

If you agree with us that Teresa is a superstar, please show your support by giving whatever you can to her Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/Teresa-Waller.  Give whatever you can, it’ll change someone’s life for the better, trust us.
