Sahara Challenge 2012 – introducing Katarina Watson

kat-watsonThe Watsons are a pretty incredible couple, I think you’ll agree.  We met the lovely Katarina through Tony, her husband, and she’s gone and agreed to walk the Sahara for us on our quest for water!

She’s a big softie with a heart of gold (and feet of rubber, we hope) – ladies and gentlemen, find out more about the rather gorgeous and wonderful Katarina in the 10 questions we ask absolutely everyone….
Apart from your home and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
A trip to visit my sister in Beijing which was worth every penny spent.

What’s been the most embarrasing moment of your life?
When I was 10 minutes late for my wedding and my husband and his family had to wait for me.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Health, so people (whether rich or poor) would not have to suffer from any illness.

If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you’d do?
Board space shuttle bound for the moon.

If you had a pound to give to charity, which collection tin would you pop it in?
Any children’s charity.

When was the last time you cried?
On my friend’s wedding in France, I cried from joy as he and his bride were saying “Yes” in an overpowering and beautiful town hall in a little town called Janzé in Brittany.

Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say?
My husband telling me that he is only 5 minutes away from me.

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Antonia, so I have a similar name to my husband and the same initials.

What is your favourite thing about The Body Shop Foundation?
That it touches people’s lives and everything is possible.

What one skill or talent do you have that no-one knows about?
Some say I am a woman of many talents. The one talent which have only been brought to light recently, because of the Sahara Challenge, is my passion for knitting.

Come on people – support Katarina and give whatever you can to her Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/Katarina-Watson.  Access to water is a basic human and Katarina’s hard work and challenge will literally change someone’s life.  Help her achieve this by donating whatever you can afford – it all adds up!  Thank you!
