Sahara Challenge 2012: introducing Jeanie Smith
Lovely Jeanie is no stranger to fundraising for The Body Shop Foundation; not only did she run 26 miles in the first Brighton Marathon EVER for us, she’s only gone and signed up for the Sahara Trek too!
As gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside, Jeanie is our dark horse and secret weapon when it comes to stamina! We’re relying on her to keep us all going when the going gets tough (no pressure) but enough from us, here’s more about the rather wonderfuly Jeanie in the 10 questions we ask absolutely everyone….
Apart from your home and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
I’m not really a big spender, so, if we are talking one single item I would say maybe my laptop – that’s pretty dull so I may have to go out and buy myself something beautiful and designer to make up for it.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment of your life?
There have been so many! I suppose the worst I can think of right now was breaking wind VERY loudly at age 8 (and being a very shy little girl) whilst playing pass the parcel at a school friends birthday party – I thought the best route to go down in dealing with the situation was denial and refused to acknowledge it was me despite the fact it was loud and obviously me. Really never really got over that one at school…
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I would ban TV commercials.
If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you’d do?
I really don’t know! I don’t think I’d like to be invisible for a day on my own – it would be boring!
If you had a pound to give to charity, which collection tin would you pop it in?
Brooke Hospital for Animals
When was the last time you cried?
This morning.
Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say?
“Sisterly one where are u in my life? I miss u – I’m not even drunk! Xxx” – I love my sister lots.
If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Harriet and I’d like to be known as Hattie…I recently went to have my haircut and decided to book under that name, just to see what it would be like to be someone else.
What is your favourite thing about The Body Shop Foundation?
I love the fact that the Foundation supports such a variety of issues, there’s something for everyone to be passionate about – it has heart and soul and that means a lot to me.
What one skill or talent do you have that no-one knows about?
I’m a pretty good archer.
