Butterflies Breast Care Support Group, Worthing
Butterflies Breast Care Support Group is run solely by volunteers.
Their aim is to provide support and non-medical advice to members who have had breast cancer or their partners, family and friends.
They do this in co-operation with specialist nurses in Worthing Hospital, holding group meetings with guest speakers on a variety of subjects.
They also arrange trips out, including to two venues offering swimming facilities and a gym.
The group has set up a Pilates class to promote valuable social and therapeutic activity through exercise and to promote a feeling of well being and a self confidence boost.
We gave them £3,000 through our Local Community Grants Programme towards hiring the venue and the Pilates teacher.
