Crossroads Care South Central
Crossroads Care South Central (CCSC) exists to provide home respite support to unpaid carers living in West Sussex and Hampshire.
The time freed up – which averages 3 hours per week – is designed to enable carers to do the things that are important to them to do, in order to sustain them in their demanding carer role.
CCSC supports people of all ages, including families who have a child with a disability.
As well as the main task of procing Home Respite Services, they run four weekly social clubs – 3 for people over 65 and 1 for people who have been diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia.
Regular support work is carried out by the same Carer Support Worker each week. The consistency that this provides is something that the customers greatly appreciate. Services are delivered 24/7 throughout the whole year.
We gave them £10,000 through our Local Community Grants Programme to enhance their IT systems, including their online booking system. Its this online booking system which enables the personalisation of the scheme and will help them move to being a paperless organisation.
