Planet Lunchroom Inc

Planet Lunchroom is a nonprofit dedicated to changing the environment in which kids learn as they learn to save the environment in which they live.

They greenovate (makeover) lunchrooms in underserved communities and provide a fun, green curriculum.

Planet Lunchroom started three years ago traveling to schools on career day talking to students in low income communities about saving our environment. Recognizing a need they created a program to help children incorporate a green lifestyle into everyday activities. Their team also wanted to do something to enhance the schools appearance so hey picked the lunch area where every student meets and give it an eco friendly makeover.

The purpose is to create a socially responsible program that will start the process for children in underserved communities to receive an eco education. Most of the activities of their project fall into two main area: (1) Education and (2) Lunchroom makeover.

We gave them £5,200 through our Americas Funding Panel towards the workshop “What is Your Carbon Foot Print and the Lunchroom Make Over”.
