Responsible Animal Care Society
Responsible Animal Care Society (TRACS) is dedicated to the compassionate treatment of all living beings and to the preservation of their natural world.
Their work involves rescue, rehabilitation, sterilization, adoption and education.
They also promote public awareness in areas where animals are abused for profit or denied natural conditions.
Their Compassion Fund offers direct assistance for homeless and at-risk animals, as well as companion animals of low-income citizens. Many requests for help come via agencies such as the Women’s Shelter, regional hospitals, social assistance, and veterinary clinics that have been approached by low-income clients.
As funds permit, they pay veterinary bills (including sterilization as necessary) and cover food and emergency kennel costs in cases of urgent need.
They also provide telephone and e-mail advice, written material on care and maintenance of companion animals, training opportunities and lectures at public venues and schools.
Their Horse Protection Initiatives program promotes the adoption of horses Canada-wide from qualified rescue facilities, and provides euthanasia assistance as an alternative to slaughter for elderly, ill, and lame horses.
We gave them £5,200 through our Americas Funding Panel towards the Compassion Fund.
