St John’s Status of Women Council

The St. John’s Status of Women Council (SJSWC) is the governing body of the projects St. John’s Women’s Centre Inc. and Marguerite’s Place.

The St. John’s Women’s Centre develops and delivers supportive programs to Marguerites Place housing residents and women from surrounding communities.

Marguerites Place is a brand new housing initiative that offers safe and affordable housing to women with complex needs.

Marguerite’s Place will also house the St. John’s Women’s Centre and the offices of SJSWC. Currently the building is under construction and is expected to open September 2011.

For the purpose of this project, they are seeking funding for the St. John’s Women’s Centre’s Know Your Neighborhood program. This program will be used by Marguerites Place residents and surrounding communities.

We gave them £5,000 through our Americas Funding Panel towards the ‘Know Your Neighbourhood’ programme, offering safe and affordable housing to women with their complex needs.
