The Green Centre, Brighton

The Green Centre is based in Brighton and works across Sussex to enable people to develop their relationship with the planet. They believe this begins with a peaceful and respectful relationship with yourself and with others.

Their mission is to provide carefully researched and qualified information and advice to all members of the community on matters that have an effect on the future of our planet. They do this through their website, through the many projects they run at the Green Centre and by working in the community.

One project that run is an Eco Tour. The tour includes 32 environmental organisations in Brighton & Hove, consisting of a virtual tour on their website and a live tour. The live tour is taken on the ‘Big Lemon’, a local independent bus company whose buses are run on locally sourced cooking oil.

We gave them £2,000 through our Local Community Grants Programme towards a series of teaching resources to support the Eco Tour.
