Victims of Family Violence Association
They are a small 10 bed facility that provides safe shelter, food, clothing, counselling, and outreach services to women and children fleeing violence and abuse.
They are committed to fostering positive social change in our community by providing services and public education around the issue of family violence and violence against women.
The Third Place Transition House has been a pioneer in providing safe shelter and support services for women and children in the communities of Truro, Colchester County, and East Hants County.
Since 1989, the shelter has been actively responding to the needs of the community’s most helpless and vulnerable women and children.
Through its broad range of programs and services offered to the community, both in house and through outreach, the shelter staff address the issue of violence and abuse against women and children.
We gave £5,200 through our Americas Funding Panel towards employing someone to design and implement a web service for online public education and resources about violence against women and children.
