WADARS
WADARS objective is the care and protection of animals of all kinds.
Every year, WADARS receive and act upon more than 15,000 calls from the local community regading animals and birds in distress. In the course of their work, Animal Rescue Officers make over 5,000 visits a year covering a distance in excess of 40,000 miles in their fully equipped animal ambulances.
Over 300,000 pets go missing each year in the UK, causing worry and concern for their owners.
WADARS would like to offer a free micro chipping service for the elderly to make sure that should their pet be lost, it has the best chance of being reunited with them. The service would be offered to people drawing state pension where they could apply for a free voucher to get their pet micro chipped by a local vet.
We gave them £3,000 through the Local Community Grants Programme towards this free micro chipping scheme.
