Grrr-eat news from Big Cat Rescue
We LOVE it when we get good news from our projects, particularly when its to do with our funding so imagine how thrilled we were to receive the following news from our friends at Big Cat Rescue, Tampa.
Howard Baskin, Advisory Board Chairman for Big Cat Rescue writes
“TECO has a rebate program for solar projects that operates on a first come, first served system based on who gets through first online when they open the website for applications at a set time. 1000 applicants compete for about 85 grants according to TECO.
For the solar project you donated to, we managed to get in and win $10,000 for the project, which combined with your donation funded most of it.
Well, yesterday they had another rebate application event. We worked with the same solar installer to come up with a project at the south end of the property by the meeting house. But this one will be twice as big, 10Kw.
Yesterday a bunch of us and our supporters were at our PC’s ready to type in our application as fast as we could when the website opened for applications and…..we won a $20,000 rebate!!!
So, over the next four months we will be working on constructing another solar project, but twice as big. Soooo, you have created a solar monster!!”
We were lucky enough to take our Anita Winners for 2011 to see our funding in action and were blown away by the hard work and determination of this vital organization. Put simply, we couldn’t be happier for them and think that this is well deserved. Way to go Big Cat Rescue – what purrfect news for a Wednesday!
